Mr. Timbi Kaugla was appointed Assistant Commissioner – Southern Region in 2020. Mr. Kaugla joined PNGCS on 15th August 1985. Timbi is a career Corrections officer and has worked his way up over the years to his current designation. Prior to his appointment as Assistant Commissioner he was Commanding Officer-Buimo Correctional Institution, Lae. Mr. Kaugla has over 30 years of experience in Corrections administration, operations process and procedures. He currently manages all jails within the Southern Region of Papua New Guinea. These jails are; Bomana CI (NCD), Giligili CI (MILNE BAY), Biru CI (ORO PROVINCE), Daru CI (WESTERN PROVINCE), and Ningerum CI (WESTERN PROVINCE). He is also a member of the Correctional Service Executive Team (CSET).
