Senior Management

Mr. Felixie Namane was appointed Assistant Commissioner – Northern Region in 2019.  Mr.  Namane joined PNGCS on 28^th July 1986.  Mr. Namane is a career Corrections officer and has worked his way up over the years to his current designation.  Mr. Namane has over 30 years of experience in Corrections administration, operations process and procedures. He currently manages all jails within the Northern Region of Papua New Guinea.  These jails are; Buimo CI (MOROBE PROVINCE), BEON CI (MADANG), Boram CI (EAST SEPIK PROVINCE), and Vanimo CI (WEST SEPIK PROVINCE).  He is also a member of the Correctional Service Executive Team (CSET).

Mr. Vincent Kundi was appointed Assistant Commissioner – ARoB in 2019.  Mr.  Kundi joined PNGCS on 15^th February 1978.  Mr. Kundi is a career Corrections officer and has worked his way up over the years to his current designation.  Mr. Kundi has over 42 years of experience in Corrections administration, operations process and procedures. He currently manages Bekut Correctional Institution in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville.  Prior to Mr. Kundi's appointment as AC-ARoB he had served as Commanding Officer in various correctional instititions nationwide and most recently Giligili Correctional Institute, Alotau, Milne Bay Province.  He is also a member of the Correctional Service Executive Team (CSET).

Ms. Francesa Marenge was appointed Acting Assistant Commissioner in 2020.  Ms. Marenge joined PNGCS on 28th April 1989.  Francesca is a career Female Corrections officer who has worked her way up to her current designation. Prior to her appointment as Acting Assistant Commissioner she was Manager-Policy, Planning & Evaluation.  Ms. Marenge has over 31 years of experience in Corrections administration operations, process and procedures.  She currently heads the Policy & Planning, ICT, Facilities, and Public Relations Sections within the organization.  She is also a member of the Correctional Service Executive Team (CSET).

Mrs. Patty Kore was appointed Acting Assistant Comissioner in 2019. Mrs. Kore joined PNGCS on 11th May, 1977. Mrs. Kore is one of the most senior civillian officers employed by the department. She has worked her way up over the years to her current designation.  Prior to her appointment as Acting Assistant Commissioner, she was Director-Human Resource.  Mrs. Kore has over 43 years of experience as a Corrections administrator and she currently heads the Personnel, Finance and Administrations divisions of the organization which are made up of;  Finance, HR, and CSHQ Administration.  She is also a member of the Correctional Service Executive Team (CSET).

Mr. Simon Lakeng was appointed Assistant Commissioner - Highlands Region in 2020. Mr. Lakeng joined PNGCS on 28th January 1977.  He joing the department through the Correctional Service Officer cadet program in 1997 and has worked his way up over the years to his current designation.  Prior to his appointment as Assistant Commissioner he served as Commanding Officer of Bihute Correctional Institute, Goroka.  Mr. Lakeng has over 20 years of experience in Corrections administration, operations process and procedures.  He currently manages all jails within the Highlands Region of Papua New Guinea.  These jails are; Baisu CI (WESTERN HIGHLANDS PROVINCE), Bui-Eibi CI (SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS PROVINCE), Mukrumanda CI (ENGA PROVINCE), Bihute CI (EASTERN HIGHLANDS PROVINCE), Bundaira CI (EASTERN HIGHLANDS PROVINCE), Barawagi CI (SIMBU PROVINCE) and Hawa CI (HELA PROVINCE). He is also a member of the Correctional Service Executive Team (CSET).

Mr. Philip Pranis was appointed Assistant Commissioner – Islands (NGI) Region in 2020.  Mr.  Pranis joined PNGCS on 30th May 1993.  Philip has over 20 years of experience in Corrections administration, operations process and procedures.  Prior to his appointment as Assistant Commissioner he was Commanding Officer of Manus Correctional Institutue, Lorengau.He currently manages all jails within the New Guinea Islands Region of Papua New Guinea.  These jails are; Kerevat CI (EAST NEW BRITAIN PROVINCE), Lakiemata CI (WEST NEW BRITAIN PROVINCE), Kavieng CI (KAVIENG PROVINCE), Manus CI (MANUS PROVINCE), and Beku CI (AUTONOMOUS REGION OF BOUGAINVILLE).  He is also a member of the Correctional Service Executive Team (CSET).

Mr. Timbi Kaugla was appointed Assistant Commissioner – Southern Region in 2020.  Mr.  Kaugla joined PNGCS on 15^th August 1985.  Timbi is a career Corrections officer and has worked his way up over the years to his current designation.  Prior to his appointment as Assistant Commissioner he was Commanding Officer-Buimo Correctional Institution, Lae.  Mr. Kaugla has over 30 years of experience in Corrections administration, operations process and procedures. He currently manages all jails within the Southern Region of Papua New Guinea.  These jails are; Bomana CI (NCD), Giligili CI (MILNE BAY), Biru CI (ORO PROVINCE), Daru CI (WESTERN PROVINCE), and Ningerum CI (WESTERN PROVINCE).  He is also a member of the Correctional Service Executive Team (CSET).
